BE INSPIRED
MassArt's 22nd Annual Benefit Art Auction
Saturday, April 9, 2011
Each spring, the Annual Benefit Art Auction at MassArt draws a crowd of over 600 collectors and art enthusiasts, each one hoping to capture the joy of discovery, the thrill of the hunt – a new work of art to bring home!
Over 300 works of art will be included in a silent auction which allows attendees to circle the room, discovering another piece of art around every corner in the Bakalar and Paine Galleries, two contiguous spaces that are home to various exhibitions at MassArt throughout the year. Serious connoisseurs will be focused on the 40 pieces offered in a live auction but the opportunity to wander through unexplored territory – ceramics, glass, jewelry, paintings, photography, sculpture, and works on paper - continues throughout the evening.
MassArt's Auction has truly become one of Boston's rites of spring, and this year's promises to be the best yet, showcasing artists both established and new. Among the nationally and internationally known artists, emerging artists, MassArt alumni, faculty, and students represented in this year's auction are:
Andy Warhol, William Kentridge, Chuck Close, Julian Opie, Jack Pierson '84, Judy McKie, Jenny Holzer, Chris Gustin, Nicole Chesney '97, TRIIBE, William Wegman '65, and Cindy Sherman.
Whether you are a passionate and seasoned collector or a new collector, we're certain that you'll find something wonderful to take home.
