Event Description - The MassArt Foundation's 18th Annual Benefit Art Auction

We'll be there... will you?
MassArt's 18th Annual Benefit Art Auction on Saturday, March 31, 2007

Preview Auction Artwork at www.massartauction.org

Each spring, the Annual Benefit Art Auction at MassArt draws a crowd of over 600 collectors and art enthusiasts, each one hoping to capture the joy of discovery, the thrill of the hunt – a new work of art to bring home!

Over 300 works of art will be included in a silent auction which allows attendees to circle the room, discovering another piece of art around every corner in the Bakalar and Paine Galleries, two contiguous spaces that are home to various exhibitions at MassArt throughout the year. Serious connoisseurs will be focused on the 40 pieces offered in a live auction but the opportunity to wander through unexplored territory – works on paper, glass, photography, ceramics, etc. continues throughout the evening.

Among the nationally and internationally known artists, emerging artists, MassArt alumni, faculty and students represented in this year’s auction include:

Chuck Close, Robert Mangold, Sol LeWitt, Laura McPhee, George Nick, Nick Nixon, Abelardo Morell, Sam Durant ('86), Ambreen Butt ('97), Cheryl Warrick ('88), Jane Marsching, Kelly Sherman ('02), and William Wegman ('65).
